Today I wanted to answer a frequently asked question in my DMS!

“Lauren, what is your go-to when you are drinking alcohol? Do you even drink alcohol?”


Let’s be real here. When I’m in the thick of my CrossFit Games season, you might always see me opting out of alcohol with friends and family. But for me, it’s perfectly fine because my fiancé also competes with me so we both don’t drink and it makes it so much easier to stay on track. Don’t get me wrong I do love myself a glass of wine with a good steak dinner or a margarita when we’re eating Mexican food. And I love to enjoy myself on special occasions when the whole family is together for a holiday like Christmas or Easter. I might even on these special occasions enjoy more than one drink, but it really depends who I’m with, if I’m on vacation, and where my next competition is at the moment. But if I do have one drink over the course of the week on a normal occasion, I’ve come to the realization it won’t kill my progress.

Although I don’t recommend these on the regular! Striving for a healthy balance is always key with any nutrition plan! Having a drink with the girls or for a celebration is great, but we all know that some of the most popular cocktails have a great amount of calories in them! The average glass of wine is about 150-160 calories… and we all know you won’t stop at just one glass! A regular margarita typically has around 300. Drinking your calories can be a hefty contributor to why you aren’t getting to where you want to be physically! But I strive to live my life with BALANCE, and my diet is a reflection of that. And yours should be too!

SO with that being said, I thought I’d share my favorite healthy cocktail recipes! ALL under 100 Calories… 😱 I know, amazing!
